Traveler’s Notebook | Journal With Me | Time to Celebrate

My little girl won the trophy at her dance class, we couldn’t be more proud, so the picture totally had to go in my traveler’s notebook right? I have actually used this photo, or  very similar to it but the beauty of a traveler’s notebook is that you can do what ever you like in it!

I used an insert that I have made with the plastic poly pockets on alternate pages, the paper I used was specialist watercolour paper from Hobbycraft. On the right hand side is some vellum from a kit from Little Rainbow Moon.

To start the page I liberally added water to the left page and used some of the Hobbycraft pearlescent water colour paints to create a wishy washy background to mimic whats happening on the right hand side of the page. I simply then added a texture stamp from Stampin’ Up! to the top and bottom of where the photo would be and called the background done. After backing the photo on the flower card I added a layer of white paper which I used a ruler to rip to give the textured edge and adhered everything down to the page

I used another stamp (Text Ya Later) to create the little speech bubble which reads “Time to Celebrate” onto the white card and stuck that to the top of the photo.I really wanted to use a heart eye emoji but couldn’t fit another 2 in a position I liked so I broke the rule of 3 and Just used the one… ohh the rebel I am!!

And that was me calling the layout done!

I hope you enjoy these videos and come back every Thursday to check out the latest instalment. I have just out together a new insert that I am going to fill with positive quotes but in more of an art journal/mixed media style, if you’d like to see regular process videos of that then let me know in the comments and I’ll be sure to turn the camera on!!

Much love
Michelle xx

  1. You’ve inspired me to use one of my travellers’ notebook inserts as a mini scrapbook. I have a Canon Selphy so can print credit card size photos that are perfect for it. I love the vellum you used on the right there.
