Family : December Daily 6 : Traveler’s Notebook

Do you ever think that technology actually has something personal against you? Well, I do! Every time I need to get something done its technology that seems to go wrong on me. I sat filming today’s layout with not a card in the world only to find out that only the first 8 minutes recorded! As its a daily challenge I didn’t want to start again so today will be just a blog post!

I started by cutting the 12×12 paper to fit the size of the Traveler’s Notebook insert, I then chose to work on this and stick it into the notebook when done. I find this easier when the book is a bit bulkier.

Flipping a bit of the offcut gave me a coordinating colour to matt my photo with which worked really well as the reverse side was dark blue and the photo had a lot of dark blue in it. To add an extra layer I cut an L shape from a Memories and More card which brings an extra hit of red to the page. For the final layer, I used my Fast Fuse to run a strip of adhesive along one side of the photo, I then stuck the length of ribbon in a ruffle pattern down the adhesive.

My premade embellishments came in handy again and I added one of the clusters to the top of the picture, luckily I had one that said “Family” which came from the Memories and More card pack.

Finally, I punched 2 labels with my label punch; one in lemon lime twist and the other on the patterned background paper that I created. I layered the stamped one up with a page flag made from lemon lime twist cardstock and stamped the sentiment in the same colour. The plain label I used to journal on. I think you’ll be seeing these labels a lot in upcoming projects, they are fantastic!
