Craft With Me LIVE : Stampin’ Up! Picture Perfect Birthday

It’s crafty club week yay. This is, legitimately, my favourite week of the month. I love making up everyone’s kits and hearing that you have received them. This months posting has been slightly delayed as the deliveries are taking a tiny bit longer to reach us from Stampin’ Up! HQ due to the high volume of orders going through as everyone grabs their favourites from the retiring stock list.

For the first of this week’s videos I thought I’d start off with the live session, I made 5 cards in 40 minutes (that included a bit of rambling and a quick run to the door for the post woman lol).

I cut my cardstock as follows:

  • Card base – 8.25″ x 5.75″ (210mm x 145mm)
  • Bottom layer – 5 5/8″ x 4″ (101mm x 142mm)
  • Top layer – 5.5″ x 3.7″ (140mm x 98mm)

This card was inspired by http://www.stampinpretty.com I changed a few elements but totally loved the original too. I used my triple banner punch to add a fishtail to a piece of cut down DSP from the kit and adhered that to the white card layer. I then used an offcut of Bermuda Bay horizontally and added a small piece of silver ribbon on top of that. I used the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set to stamp out some candles and the sentiment on the white circle die cut and then used some dimensional to pop the circle off the page. It really was a simple and straightforward card to make and I’m very happy with the outcome.

The top card in this picture was inspired by Amy from http://www.stampwithamyk.com, I cut my layers and assembled them and simply stuck the die cut word on to the bottom right hand corner with some washi strips underneath. I added the bow for a little bit of interest and the card was complete. Quick and simple yet visually appealing.

The bottom card was CASE’d from the Stampin’ Up! website. I fussy cut the presents out of the DSP and made 2 fishtails with scraps of paper. I adhered the fishtails on the page, at an angle, and used dimensionals to pop the presents up off the page. I chose to stamp the sentiment, in lemon-lime twist, directly onto the card base. This card came out totally different to the original idea but I love it just as much.

The top two cards in the above picture have both been made by cutting my layers to the dimensions stated above. For the card on the left I cut a strip of lemon lime twist card stock and added some foam dimensionals to the back of the black circle die cut. I stamped my sentiment onto the punched shape and adhered that on top. This card was inspired by cloud9stampers.com

For the card on the right I made 2 fishtails out of some scrap DSP and whisper white card stock and stamped my sentiment. I added the ribbon just as a bit of a visual interest, I chose the lemon-lime twist ribbon over the peekabo peach just to make the colour pop.

There will be more project this week, all using the products from this kit that made up this month UglyBug Crafty Club kits, including a really cool piece of happy mail that any penpal would love to receive.
