Using Stampin’ Up! Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set which was an add on for this months UglyBug Crafty Club kits as well as the consumable products already in the kit I created this simple yet striking card which was inspired by Dena over at The Creativity Cave.

I started by cutting my cardstock as follows:
- Cardbase – 4.1″ x 5.8″ (148mm x 105mm)
- Black layer – 5 5/8″ x 3 5/8″ (101mm x 138mm)
- Top layer – 5 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ (133mm x 95mm)
I also had 2 scraps of peekaboo peach cut at 3 3/4″ x 1.5″ ( 95mm x 40mm)
Using my bonefolder and holding the 2 small pieces of peekabook peach together I rand the bone folder along the top and bottom of the card to break down the fibres. I then used my snips to cut small slits 1/3 of the way up the top and bottom of the longest edge. You then want to use your fingers to fan the pieces out.
I stamped my sentiment in black and used the peekaboo peace to stamp an image behind the sentiment giving it a bit of an added interest.
Layer your paper ribbon up and adhere to the white top layer, using liquid glue. You can then go ahead and matte the top and middle layers together before using the black sequin trim to tie a double knot around your paper ribbon, leaving 2 lengths trailing.
Colour on colour stamping looks fantastic and I loved the way Dena used the sprinkles in the corner of the card base so I went right ahead and added that to my version too.
The last step is fixing the layers onto your card base and stamping a sentiment inside if you wish to, I leave mine blank and then stamp something when I decide what I’ll be using it for.
