If you watched my unboxing of my new Stampin’ Up products you will have seen how excited I was to use my new Rooted In Nature Stamp Set. Today has been the first time I got to sit and create with it, I had a quick search and came across this video on YouTube by Pepperley Rose Papercrafting. I love how the new In Colours make the card pop. In the original video they use a white embossing powder but I decided to use copper.
I cut my sponge into 8 pieces and used the tab punch to punch out a shape in each of the coordinating colours for the new in colours. I used my stapler to attach the tab to the sponge as a handle and as a colour reference for the future use.
I cut my card to:
- Pineapple Punch Cardbase – 4.1″ x 5.8″ (148mm x 105mm)
- White layer – 5 5/8″ x 3 5/8″ (101mm x 138mm)
- Strip to colour – 5 5/8″ x 2″
I started off by dabbing the sponge in the ink pad and, in a circular motion, rubbing the top strip of card. I started with the lightest colour and moved down to the dark, rubbing the sponge on scrap paper before going into the card stock helps to keep the ink even.
Using the large leaf stamp and the versamark I stamped a random pattern and covered it with the copper embossing powder. I used my heat tool to heat up the powder which melts and then solidifies creating a really cool effect.
I chose to stamp the sentiment in the same colour as the card stock. I really do love how this came out and I have some ideas that I cannot wait to try this with.
