Ok so there is a reason that I love paper wayyy more than technology, you know where you stand with paper, it is innocent, does what you want it to do, doesn’t have a double agenda and would certainly  never double cross you by giving you information on google and then failing to do what you wanted it to when you followed the steps to.the.letter!!

Raising money for Carrie, for medical bills not funded by NHS

Edited to add new prizes:

  • The £50 UglyDori voucher has now been increased to any size UglyDori with any tooling/paint/customisation.. this is a whopping prize and Trevor is happy to work with the winner to create their dream UglyDori!!
  • A stationery Bundle from Three Little Buhos
  • £20 shop credit from Kelizabethplans

One of my lovely ladies on my PR Team, Carrie, is.. in totally understated words “a bit poorly” her condition….. in fact why don’t I let Carrie tell it in her own words…

Carrie’s Fund is about helping to raise funds to cover the increasing medical costs my complex condition brings.

Thanks to my stretchy-gooey-fragile connective tissue I have legs that wobble, the stamina of a sloth and an ability to facepalm the floor numerous times a day. I have complete intestinal failure, am fed directly into my heart (TPN), my upper spine is collapsing which is crushing my brainstem, I am losing my sight and my immune system is breaking down – my whole body is literally falling apart.

Sadly, there are many aspects of my condition which are not recognised or treated on the NHS or in the UK. As a result I have to fund a lot of my medical care, pay for expensive equipment and in the near future I may need to fund surgery and treatment in other countries

Carrie’s Fund is to help ease some of the burden of these extensive costs. Some of the things that the fund has paid for and will help pay towards in the future include :

  • Specialist powered wheelchair
  • Upright MRI scans in London for spinal instability (CCI)
  • Consultations with CCI neurosurgeon in Spain
  • Travel fridge to store TPN to allow travel away from home for appointments and short breaks.”

As you can see this beautiful lady has so much to deal with and still takes time out of her day to help others and raise awareness of the condition. You can read more of Carrie’s story HERE and follow her blog HERE

and the point of this post is: I decided to see if I could raise funds for Carrie’s medical treatment by donating a custom UglyDori to be raffled off, I posted in a UK sellers group on Facebook and the mega generous sellers jumped in with their own contributions to create one mega prize. Tickets are £2.50 and can be paid by PayPal at please only put the word Carrie in the notes and I will email you your ticket number (this will go to your PayPal email so please check that).

Competition closes on the 3rd April at 9am and the winner will be drawn live at 2pm that very same day. All money will be transferred to Carrie’s fundraising page that day (so please pay by friends and family to maximise the amount raised.

The prize…

There are more amazing contributors to come so keep checking back. If you are a seller or have an item you would like to donate to help this cause then please do contact me and I will make sure to add you to the list.

Planner Girls Collective : Motivational Quotes

This weeks blog carnival topic is “Inspirational Quotes” now I’m sure we could all post a million pictures all with beautiful and meaningful quotes on them and I had considered that. Then I decided to go with, perhaps not the most motivational quote but the quote that motivates me the most (if that even makes sense) and that is “Work for free or for full price, NEVER for cheap” I’m not even sure who said it or where I first came across it but it really helps me in the days where I am feeling less than confident. Of course I do offers and sales in my shop but I refuse to work for less than my worth and I think that should be a rule we all live by.

That then led me to this, last year I designed some planner inserts (a5) and filmed them in a few different vlogs, someone reminded me the other day so I thought I would share them here as a free download, all I ask is that you do not use them for commercial purposes and if you do print and use them I’d love to see on social media using @uglybugplans. Please ignore the fact that they say 2016 as they are undated so can be used any year.

Please remember to go check out the other girls taking part in this series, give them a comment and let you know what you thought of their post. – Rej Relova – Haley Daley-Hannibal – Hannah Saadat Jones… Hannah Marriage (Smith on FB)

Unboxing : January UglyBug Planner and Stationery Box

As it is the 3rd January now and most people will be receiving their boxes any day now I thought I would do an unboxing on my blog and YouTube channel. The boxes normally go out on the 27th of each month and cost £15 including postage. They have a different “theme” every month and have a variety of stationery and planner accessories in them.

This months box was “Shine like a Diamond”, the boxes all come out the same with the new branding on them now that we have transitioned over to Ugly Bug Plans. The boxes are available from my Etsy store (this months has sold out) Februaries box “Dare to Dream” will ship on the 27th January.

Sometimes the boxes are all colour coordinated but this month I have gone for “bling” as a theme and who else would best appear on some blingy stickers that Audrey Hepburn.

There are 3 sheets of planner stickers and a half sheet of word/phrase stickers.

The other items in the boxes are a purple “gemstone” washi, gem stone post it notes (various colours), rose gold coloured pen with large gem on the end and a 2017 motivational planner charm/keyring.

I had planned on adding a dashboard to this months kit but logistically that would be a nightmare, from now on all the monthly boxes will be a generic size and there will be “add ons” available to purchase separately.

You can view the unboxing video HERE which also includes some footage of me talking about my future plans for my YouTube channel and it also mentions a competition to win this box which you can find details of below.

Well its official, I am that much in love with my TN set up that I no longer love, use or need my ring bound planner… well thats not strictly true, I do use one and will be blogging about how i use rings and TN’s together… but that’s for another day!!

I have decided that, rather than see this beautiful christmas planner sit unloved on my shelf, I would like to give it away. It is the personal size planner with dividers and magnetic page markers made by My Pretty Week (which I won in the UKPA raffle), there are stickers from my shop, washi samples and a brand new set of Christmas inserts from the lovely Hannah at Plan With Hannah.

The competition lasts until the 10th November when I will draw a winner using the rafflecopter random generator. Competition open to UK only, to enter please click the link below!
