Planner Girls Collective – Spring Bucket List

I do love our weekly posts when they include some form of creativity so as soon as I read today’s topic of “Spring Bucket List” I knew it was going in my art journal and I had just the stamp set for it! To view the process video click HERE!

Firstly I created the blue background using some toilet paper and my blue ink pad, then I double stamped around the border to give the flowers more texture.

I love how it turned out, it was so simple to do but looks so effective, it could easily be used on letter paper too for those of you Witney pen pals!

The stamp set I used was Avant-Garden which available free, until the end of March, with a purchase of £45

Dont forget to pop over to see what the other girls in the PGC series have on their bucket lists!

Bit of a scrappy girl

…not the kind of rugby scraps that I’m used to, just regular old scrapbooking!! I love it!

When I first got into Project Life I had wanted to go down the scrapbook route but it was all very daunting and the layouts seemed very professional, I brought a tonne of books and then left them on my bookshelf.

This week a friend of mine posted a link for an online scrapbook crop on Facebook and I was intrigued, it cost £5 and I was added to a secret group… alas no secret handshake, yet!!

I had 2 photos, from Trevor’s bodybuilding competition last year, that I hadn’t encoperated into a layout yet but really wanted to get documented… my feet got itchy and as a reward for finishing my exam I allocated myself some scrappy time..

Following a template I’d found on Google I attempted my first 12×12 page:

This is how she came out, for my first ever I was quite impressed 🙂

Although it’s mid February I’ve yet to start this years album as I couldn’t decide what to use, I’ve brought a smaller SN@P album but as soon as I’d done this layout I knew I wanted to stick with the 12×12 so that I can have a mash up of Project Life and scrap pages.

I love that I can be as arty as I want and bring mixed media into the pages, it means I no longer have to decide between art, crafting and documenting our lives.

Blog and YouTube Schedule Jan-Apr 2017

img_7231

I’m on a roll today, not only is this my second post of the day (something that doesn’t happen that often I promise) but I have also sat and worked out my blog and YouTube schedule for the first 3 months of 2017 and have made some notes for the posts for the next 2 weeks.. One of my goals is to be more productive and the hour I spent working on this this morning will save me lots of time in the next few weeks.

This will be my blog schedule until April (starting tomorrow):

MondayPlanner Girl Collective (formerly Confessions of a plannerholic) A group of planner and stationery obsessed girls have come together to form a series of, weekly, posts. We all post on a Monday and it is usually the same topic (there are some off topic posts which a few of us, including myself, change to suit our blogs). My posts will all be on stationery, planners, productivity, organisation, goal setting or creativity.

Tuesday – This will vary from week to week and will include unboxing, reviews, creative tutorials and any other on topic posts which do not fall under the other days categories.

WednesdayOrganisation the first 6 weeks (starting 4th January 2017) will follow me as I organise my house using Marie Kondo’s “KonMari Method” I’m literally going to take you along with me from my first impressions of the book to actually organising each room.

Thursday – Productivity My main aim of 2017 is to be more productive and the first 6 blog posts will follow me as I discover David Allens “Getting Things Done” and become more productive using his techniques.

Friday – Goal Setting Another short series as I put “My Miracle Morning” into place as guided by Hal Elrods book “The Miracle Morning”, I am super excited by this and have already started to read the book and put a few things from it into place.

SaturdayMy Crafty Week Although this blog is focussing on planning, productivity and organisation I wanted to add creativity in there too as I often use a creative journal when I am goal setting etc, on the other hand I didn’t want a tonne of creative posts to overwhelm the blog. My Crafty Week is a weekly post where I can show you what I’ve been creating and working on that week in one post, it will contain links to any creative YouTube videos and tutorials that I have posted that week.

Sunday – Plan With Me I have decided that this year I will be moving away from the typical “plan with me/plan my week” posts where i show you each week how i have decorated my planner for that week. I have tried and tried to plan like this as that seems like “the norm” for most of the planner girls out there. Instead my Plan With Me blog posts will be more informative, I will go over everything from planner jargon to accessories and where to buy them. Each week will focus on one aspect of planning so if you are new to the planner world or would just like to learn how to plan more efficiently then make sure you tune in every week. There will be a corresponding video on my YouTube channel every week.

My Crafty Week : Happy Mail : Art Journalling

Last year I used to send lots of “happy mail” to various pen pals and one off swaps, I even had a Facebook group dedicated to swapping pocket letters and other forms of snail mail.

Unfortunately it kind of fissled out and I hadn’t sent any for a long time!

When Octobers Studio Calico Kits hit my doormat I really wanted to create something with it. It was so lovely.

At the same time I was having some problems with some equipment and another Etsy seller helped me out so I wanted to send her a small thank you, a TN book mark.

I had no idea how it would turn out, there are a few things I would do differently next time but overall I love how this turned out and was really pleased with it. The little envelope in the middle contains the gift and the flap at the side lifts up to reveal a note.

At the time I made this I said I’d love to send more, alas I’ve not gotten round to it… maybe once the house is sorted this weekend I’ll have another go!

Recently I took the kids pumpkin picking (you can tell how long it’s been since my last catch up!) I wanted to create a page in my art journal as well as a Project Life page. I’d seen some amazingly creative pages on YouTube and decided to have a go at drawing something myself.

I’m no artist but I do love to try and I am super happy with how this page turned out!!! Again it is something I am desperate to try again, I need to set aside some crafty time!!
