Eastern Palace Suite : Monochromatic Cards

One of the best thing about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is getting to see, order and play with the products before they are available to the general public.

Normally we have to wait to share these with you but this year the lovely people at SU HQ have decided you guys deserve an early treat too. So they have released the Eastern Palace Suite, from the new 2017-2018 catalogue, for us now and for you guys from the 1st May.. how amazing is that?!

For this weeks “teamie Tuesday” I set the challenge of “Monochromatic” as usually the team took this challenge and made it their own, my version came out like this;

The Eastern Palace Suite is not yet available to pre order, as soon as it is I will let you know on this blog!

Nailed It – Fathers Day Explosion Card

This was such a fun card to make, I was inspired by THIS video by Lea Denton over at the Crafty Spark. I made a few changes and can honestly say that this won’t be the last one I make.

I am so sad that this paper suite is retiring at the end of May, along with the stamps and dies that I’ve used here too, it has been such a fun set to use and has so many different uses for the important men in your life.

Filofax Original Nude Flick Through

I am sure that everyone in the plannerverse knows what a unicorn planner is but for those of you who are unsure: I will explain. A unicorn planner is one that you have wanted for ages but that you haven’t been able to get hold of, it may be that it is too expensive or that it is rare and you haven’t been able to find one for sale. My unicorn was the Filofax nude original and this week she finally landed in my hands.. yes yes I do still use a ring planner, even though it feels like I am cheating on my own business haha.

So she arrived yesterday and I couldn’t wait to get her set up, the beige dividers that Filofax supply with their planner do not spark any joy for me so they were the first things that I want to change out but seeing as this will be used for all my Stampin’ Up! information I obviously wanted to use some of our products to make it.. let me tell you, I had so much freaking fun making them that I didn’t go to bed until past 11 (i’m a 9pm kinda girl) and the first thing I don’t when I woke up was proudly show off my new work planner to my husband (who even though he makes the UglyDori’s.. still does not get what we are all so obsessed over).

In all her nude glory 🙂

The inside front cover, decorated with card from Little Rainbow Moon on Etsy and various clips and accessories.

I used the Avant Garden stamp set to make the title page, this set is sadly only available until the end of March.. it is one of my favourites at the minute.

I left the tabs clear and numbered them and have an index behind my dashboard.

Up and away Thinlets and the Lift me up stamp set for the first divider, how fun does this look!

Birthday fiesta papers, thinlets and stamps here, the Llama was coloured with water colour pencils.

Pop of Pink papers or Pop of Pow 🙂 … this flirty flamingo is too cute not to share! the thick band is actually the washi from the collection and the background is made with the Pop of Paradise stamp set, versamark ink pad and basic black and melon mambo ink.

Another stamp set (well 2 actually) that are only available while Sale-A-Bration lasts.. these are Delightful Details and Make a Medallion, I used melon mambo, tempting turquoise and delightful daffodil from the brights ink collection (my fav colour combos ever).

I have only used the Oh So Succulent set once before but it is already becoming a firm favourite of mine and I have lots of plans to use it over this coming week. I used Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Tempting Turquoise from the brights collection. There are 2 part stamps which means you can come up with a whole host of different effects and combinations.

And lastly, this little guy, isn’t he cute and fun, the card stock and inks are from the new 2016-2018 In Colours and the little truck is another Sale-A-Bration product.. Tasty Trucks.. I’ll be sad to see this little dude go.

For today’s Teamie Tuesday Challenge I gave everyone (on my Stampin’ Up! Team) a card sketch that I had found on Pinterest, we could use anything in our stash, I choose to use the sketch as a base but changed it quite a bit. You can view the process video HERE!

Teamie Tuesday!

Stampin’ Up! Really is for all levels of crafter and the products can be used in a variety of ways! In my little team we have scrapbookers, smashbookers, card makers, mixed media artists and many more talents. To showcase these to you I came up with “Teamie Tuesday” each week I will set a challenge and my team will interpret that anyway they wish and will make a project to show on their blogs and social media. This week, as some  are very new and have only just received their kit, I set the challenge of just making anything from their kit!

Due to the workshop this weekend I haven’t really had time to craft much but I have been making bows!! Yup bows haha!

I actually forgot how much I love my envelope punch board and every scrap of paper gets turned into a bow (and then stolen by one of my daughters the cheeky monkeys).

When I first purchased the envelope punch board I made lots of these in various sizes and attatched them to paperclips for my planners, here’s how to make them;

Cut 3 lengths of DSP at; 6″X1″ , 3.5″ x 1″ , .25″ x 1.25″

Take your biggest strip and place a corner in the centre of the punch:

Do that for all 4 corners:

Place one end of the DSP at 3″ and punch, then flip and do the other side:

Use the bone folder that comes with the board and gently run over the back of the paper so that it bend in.

Take your glue (I use glue dots) and glue each end to the centre:

Set that to one side!

Take the middle piece of paper and punch on the short sides:

And then at 1.75″ on both of the long sides:

Pop your glue dot on the centre and attatched the bow:

You can use a pen to round the bow and give it dimension or flatten it to use on projects like scrapbooking. I like to use double sided papers and revers the pattern for the bottom and smallest piece as it gives a nice contrast, they also look amazing in black and gold.

To purchase any of the above products you can visit my shop HERE… don’t forget to use the hostes code 7TY39NVG for a free gift from me with a spend over £20!

Please pop over to read the blogs of the rest of my teamies, some are new and would love the support!

Quick cards – from a non card maker!!

Although I’m a paper crafter I’ve never really got into card making but it’s so hard to stay away from when the catalogue is packed with lots of amazing inspiration.

I had 20 minutes to spare and a few bits of offcuts from a recent project so I decided to make some super quick and colourful cards to have on hand as I have some birthdays coming up.

This was the result, I made a few rookie errors and I really need to get the hang of adding the ink to the stamp and not pressing the stamp in the ink… to watch the quick process video click HERE!

For these cards I used the Birthday Fiesta range which you can find HERE! Don’t forget to use this months (Marc 2017) Hostess code 7TY39NVG and any order over £20 will receive a free gift from me!
