How to make you own Travellers Notebook / Smashbook

This project was so much fun, I’d seen the idea on Pinterest where they used the same kind of folder technique for a smashbook but rather than have booklets in there they had different slots for journalling. I really liked the idea but knew I could adapt it.

After my first attempt I already have a lot of ideas about what I am going to make next and what it will be used for.. watch this space 😉 the process video is HERE!

Any orders placed on my website, using the current months hostess code (which can be found to the right of this page) will receive a gift in the post from me 🙂

Memory Keeping

Strawberry picking memory keeping

Every time I have a break from memory keeping in pocket page protectors I forget how much I actually love it! I had so much fun scrapping these photos from strawberry picking last year and this paper was perfect.

I find that when I create my own cards it gives me the freedom to be as creative as I want to be and I’m not worrying about trying to find matching embellishments.

For this layout I used;

Planner Girls Collective – Spring Bucket List

I do love our weekly posts when they include some form of creativity so as soon as I read today’s topic of “Spring Bucket List” I knew it was going in my art journal and I had just the stamp set for it! To view the process video click HERE!

Firstly I created the blue background using some toilet paper and my blue ink pad, then I double stamped around the border to give the flowers more texture.

I love how it turned out, it was so simple to do but looks so effective, it could easily be used on letter paper too for those of you Witney pen pals!

Tempting Turquoise

Flirty Flamingo

Old Olive

Peekaboo Peach

The stamp set I used was Avant-Garden which available free, until the end of March, with a purchase of £45

Dont forget to pop over to see what the other girls in the PGC series have on their bucket lists!

New, custom, A6 traveler’s notebook set up with hobonichi techno

When I started this year I, like every other planner and Stationery geek, went out and purchased the Planners I needed to help me keep my life together.

I knew I wanted a wo2p desk diary, a do1p and then a traveler’s notebook to carry around with me you can see the products I chose in my post HERE.

There I was, cruising along the Planner peace highway when my friend Jayme sends me a hobonichi techno in a6… it was love I’m telling you, if you can love an object haha.

Of course she needed a new home and I’d been asking Trevor to make my Harry Potter themed a6 for ages… this is what he came up with..

At the front I have 2 large secretarial pockets and at the back I have 4 card pockets, this will be my daily carry so will house my cashcards and coupons etc.

Inside I have my 3 dot notebooks and the hobonichi techno at the back. The leather is so soft and floppy it’s stunning. Now I just cannot wait for my next planner kit to arrive so I can pump her out, I purposely left the inside nude so that I can change my colour scheme as often as I like without fear of clashing.

I filmed a flip through of this notebook that explains everything in more detail HERE.

Journal With Me : 1 : Setting up my A5 UglyDori as a Creative/Art Journal

At the end of last year I asked Trevor to make me a custom A5 UglyDori that I could use as a creative/art journal, he done me proud (as always) and made this beauty.. it is extra symbolic as that skull on the front is the exact design of the tattoo on my arm 😍 he’s a clever cookie!

It was always my intention to start using it in 2017 but I felt a bit stumped as I had a few different inserts, which were not A5, from last year which were quite empty and I didn’t want to feel like I was abandoning them. I even brought an A5 sketch book to doodle in whilst I tried to make up my mind.

So yesterday a migraine caused me to cancel all my plans and once I’d slept off the worst of it I began, as you do, watching YouTube for inspiration.

Within an hour or 2 I was out of bed and in my (dimly lit) craft room, I’d remembered Octobers Studio Calico kits that I’d squirrelled away and knew they would be perfect.

I am really happy with the result, I have already decided that one of the A5 notepads will be a memory journal that I’ve already started setting up to record mine and Trevor’s relation ship. The other notebook is where I’ll jot down ideas for art/creative journals and make lists.

I’ve just signed up for the planner society kit and I cannot wait to receive my first one and have a go at setting up one of my other UglyDoris.
